Beri ("we", "us") provides accounting and bookkeeping software for UK creators, sole traders and small businesses. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can reach us at hello@berified.app.
We collect information you give us (such as your name, email address and business details when you sign up or contact us), the financial data you enter into the Service, and technical information collected automatically (such as device, browser and usage data, and cookies, see section 6).
We use your information to provide and run the Service, respond to your enquiries, keep the Service secure, meet our legal obligations, and, where you have consented, to improve the Service and send you relevant updates.
Depending on the purpose, we rely on one or more of: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as improving and securing the Service), your consent (for example, for analytics, marketing and non-essential cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with trusted service providers who help us run the Service (for example, hosting and payment providers), and where required by law. Any providers are bound to protect your information.
We use essential cookies to make the Service work and, with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies. You can change your choices at any time using the "Manage cookies" link in the footer of any page.
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out here, or as required by law, and then delete or anonymise it.
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time.
How to complain to us. If you think we have not handled your personal information properly, you can complain to us by emailing hello@berified.app with "Data protection complaint" in the subject line. Please tell us your name, how we can contact you, and what your complaint is about. You do not need a Beri account to make a complaint. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, look into it, keep you updated on our progress, and tell you the outcome without undue delay.
Complaining to the regulator. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Where we transfer personal information outside the UK, we take steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards in line with UK data protection law.
